About Mandu : Mandu Hotels

Mandu is one of the tourist cities of the central state of Madhya Pradesh, built on the ruins of the ancient city of Mandavgad. The Rewa Kund is one of the sacred spots of Mandu. It was a reservoir built by king Baz Bahadur as a water resource for his favorite queen, Roopmati's palace. The Nilkanth is a beautiful shrine of Lord Shiva built inside an Islamic Palace. It is a courtyard shaded from three sides. The pond inside Nilkanth is considered holy as it is being fed by a natural stream. The Nilkanth Mahal is located near this shrine. Both these structures were built for Mughal Emperor Akbar's Hindu wife, Jodha Bai by Akbar's governor. The Champa Baoli is a summer retreat,with cool water step wells and bathrooms.
